Rogayah Jaafar Award for Innovation in Health Professions Education

This is an award which commemorates the contributions of the late Professor Rogayah Jaafar who was one of the pioneers in the field of  Medical Education in Malaysia. This award will reward excellence and commitment to educational scholarship in a piece of research or innovation in which the candidate has been directly involved in the field of medical education.

AIM :

This award rewards an excellent medical education researcher and innovator by recognizing high quality medical education research, development and innovation across continuum of medical education.

CRITERIA :

  1. The candidate must participate in the design development and implementation of the innovation presented.

  2. The candidate must present the findings of the innovation with evidence of implementation in his or her education practice.

  3. The candidate must present critical evaluation of the innovation based on current principles and practice of education.

PROCESS:

  • The presenter maybe any professional involved in a health care profession in Malaysia.

  • The presenter must be a member of MAEMHS

  • All presentations must be in a form of an oral presentation. The Awards Committee will select the finalists from the abstracts submitted, and will invite them to present their paper at the MAEMHS Conference.

  • The regulations governing the presentation will be detailed with the invitation.

  • All presentations will be adjudicated by a panel appointed by MAEMHS.

  • The winning presentation will be presented with a certificate of commendation and the MAEMHS cash prize of RM 1000.

  • The 1st and 2nd runner up will receive a certificate of commendation and a cash prize of RM 500 and RM 300 respectively

  • The decision of the panel is final.
